WHITE SUPREMACIST RALLY IN KINGSTON, NY NOV. 19
Primary tabs
Hal Turner is still trying to harass the town of Kingston, NY. Despite his best efforts, Kingston and neighboring communities have circled the wagons against what this Savage Nazi Beast keeps trying to do. In the end whatever it is will be nothing more than another self-serving stunt by a guy who has fallen a long way since serving as a county head for the Republican Party, campaign chair for a Jewish third-party candidate, and running for congress with his old friend Sean Hannity promoting his campaign. Hal just announced a rally in Kingston for Nov. 19. Nothing has moved on this just yet, but we expect a lot of activity around this. To that we feel it is important to note that considering his repeated calls for violence, and the fact that he has said he wants to use rallies like this to further a violent agenda, we can't just approach this with the though that this is a simple free speech issue. For once, those that use at argument to cop out of confronting Nazis when they rally will have to find something else. Turner is intentionally trying to incite a violent reaction, so much so that he has said that while the first time he comes to Kingston will be peaceful, any other times may not be. Well, this isn't going to be tolerated. Kingston and its neighbors will mount up against this moron, and their local chump, National Vanguard's "Yankee" Jim Leshkevich, and we are going to have their back.
KINGSTON, NY—Over the past two weeks, white supremacist internet radio talk show host Hal Turner has been trying to cause trouble in this town after a fight between two students at Kingston High School, one black, the other white, left the white student severely injured. After National Vanguard member Jim Leshkevich contacted Rebekah Hedrick, the white student’s mother, and had her appear on Turner’s radio show, he announced that he was going to hold a rally across from the high school to, in his words, “let those savages know they will answer for their attacks on white children.†The rally never materialized, however, and instead he posted an article about how he fooled everyone into believing he was going to hold an event at a certain date and time. The following weekend One People’s Project visited the area and spoke with Ms. Hedrick who appeared on Turner’s program, and in conversation and in a statement that later appeared on the OPP site, denounced Turner and Jim Leshkevich, saying that she merely wanted to see town officials address the gang violence and racial tension taking place in Kingston High School. Although Turner declared victory by suggesting that he somehow made people address his concerns, many persons, even those in the White Power (WP) scene, consider such pronouncements to be spin. Soon, Kingston High School students as well as the mother have posted onto his website to denounce him, his readers, and their hatemongering. On Tuesday, November 1, following the news of another fight between black and white students, Turner announced that he will be holding a rally against black crime in Kingston on November 19 at 12:00 PM.
Â
Turner’s rally comes with something else in play, however. After the event in Toledo, Ohio on Oct. 15. Turner called for similar racist rallies to take place all over the country in the hopes that it will flare up into violence. On Oct 19, he issued an “ultimatium†on his radio program to local governments. “Hal will put forth a list of political demands which favor the straight, white, Christian majority of this country and government would do well to obey,†his website read at the time. “After all, we don't want any more ‘Toledos’, do we?†This same show, which was the show that also featured Ms. Hedrick, was also when he announced that he was having a rally in Kingston. Turner was replete with calls for violence as a threat should things not improve to his liking. “We’re coming here peacefully this time, he said, referring to his announced rally outside the high school during school hours, “don’t make us come back.†He didn’t announce a day until his following week’s program, saying that it was going to be the next morning. Although police and parents mobilized to protect their students, no rally materialized. Later Turner boasted that it was all a hoax and had nothing planned for that day. Even after this and Ms. Hedrick’s statement denouncing Turner and Leshkevich, Turner continued to call for violence, one website posting suggesting Halloween would be a good opportunity to make good on such a call, as everyone will be wearing masks that day to begin with. That particular call was not met favorably by many in the racist scene and it was gone from his website after a few days. Turner says that the November 19 rally is to be a peaceful one, but given his most recent threats and comments, it should not be seen as merely a demonstration of free speech but an attempt to indimidate a community with a threat of future violence.
Â
There is also the possibility that no rally may materialize. When he posted that his first call to rally in Kingston was a hoax, he said he will do it again. “There will be activity in Kingston, but there may also be a whole slew of intentionally leaked false planning before that!†he wrote. “Sooner or later, my enemies will get tired of hauling their asses all over the region at short notice for non-existent rallies. Then I'll strike with a real one. In the meantime, I will wage psych-ops to entertain myself. Have a nice day!†Ironically, it is not his “enemies†that his routine is wearing thin on. Indeed, many in the WP circles have decided that they will not come out to support him. The self-serving Turner has always had little support in these circles, and the lack of local support, save for Jim Leshkevich in nearby Hurley, is causing many to suggest that they will stay away from whatever Turner has planned. For many, the nail in Turner’s coffin in this regard has also been the calls for future violence, especially the Halloween call. It is uncertain who if anyone will come out to Turner’s rally, if it happens at all.
Â
At the time of this writing there has not been an official call to come out an oppose Turner, but the local communities have already been working to deal with the current climate. Kingston is one of those towns where everyone seems to know each other, and that extends to the neighboring communities. They also are not going to allow some mental midget like Hal Turner uproot what they have spent much of their lives building. There will be more details forthcoming and One People’s Project will report on those details as they come.
