Hilderbrant Receives Major Endorsements

The Campaign to elect Chris Hilderbrant to the Monroe County Legislature announced today that he has received the endorsements of the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle and the Empire State Pride Agenda

DEMOCRAT & CHRONICLE ENDORSES HILDERBRANT!

(October 26, 2005) — Chris Hilderbrant has a history of trying to make Monroe County a better place for people with disabilities. His experience as a reformer, and his focus on new ideas makes Hilderbrant the Democrat and Chronicle's choice for election to the 6th District seat in the county.

As the director of advocacy at the Center for Disability Rights, Hilderbrant has made waves at many levels of government. Last year CDR was instrumental in getting the state to implement a Medicaid waiver
that allows seniors and people with disabilities to receive assistance at home rather being forced into expensive health care institutions. That's much better for people in need of moderate care and for state taxpayers.

Hilderbrant, a 29 year-old Green and Working Families party candidate, also has a sharp focus on economic development.

He is right that the county should find new ways to support small businesses that are filling the void left by lost manufacturing jobs.

Patricia Amato, who is running on the Democratic and Save Jobs party lines, is the wife of Fred Amato, the longtime 6th District legislator. Amato, 64, clearly wants to improve Monroe County.

Ray DiRaddo, the Greece town attorney who is running on the Republican, Conservative and Independence party lines, is well respected in the community. With his background as a Greece town judge and a member of
Greece Town Council, DiRaddo, 55, is certainly well qualified.

But Hilderbrant's reform efforts and fresh perspective make him our choice.

EMPIRE STATE PRIDE AGENDA ENDORSES HILDERBRANT!

Greece, NY - Chris Hilderbrant, disability rights activist and candidate for Monroe County Legislature announced today that he had received the endorsement of the Empire State Pride Agenda. The Empire State Pride Agenda is New York's statewide civil rights organization committed to winning equality and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) New Yorkers and their families.

"Chris Hilderbrant has a history of fighting for civil rights and will be a strong supporter of the LGBT community as a member of the Monroe County Legislature," stated Alan Van Capelle, Executive Director, Empire State Pride Agenda. "The Empire State Pride Agenda is proud to endorse Chris Hilderbrant's candidacy for Monroe County Legislature, 6th District."

"I look forwarding to working with the Empire State Pride Agenda to secure health care benefits for all families, not just heterosexual married couples," said Hilderbrant. "I am strongly committed to Civil
Rights for all, and I look forward to being an advocate within government."

Hilderbrant is the only candidate across all of New York State endorsed by the Empire State Pride Agenda who is not a registered Democrat or Republican. "I am pleased that the Pride Agenda believes in the strength of this independent candidacy," stated Hilderbrant.

Hilderbrant, a registered Green Party member will appear on the November 8th ballot on the Green Party and Working Families Party lines. Hilderbrant has also been endorsed by the Rochester Labor Council, the National Organization of Women, the Rochester Chapter of Democracy for America and the Democrat and Chronicle newspaper.

If elected, Hilderbrant would join over 400 other Greens who have been elected across the nation.
