Independent Media Directory Northeastern Americas Edition
If you use independent media -- or work with one of the thousands of independent outlets and organizations in the Northeastern United States, Eastern Canada, or the District of Columbia ? We want to hear from you.
As you probably know already, corporate-owned and controlled media has enormous power, and too often provides sensational, biased, and unreliable coverage. But computers, the Internet, community radio and TV, independent newspapers, and related new technologies are offering vital alternatives, helping to promote informed debate on critical issues facing the world.
If you agree, please read on and complete either our Questionnaire or Survey. Providing the information we need will only take a few minutes.

Our goal is to collect as many listings as possible, creating a comprehensive regional directory designed to help increase audiences, promote socially responsible enterprises, and serve as a resource for consumers, advertisers, and activists. We’ll include useful information about book publishers and stores; print and online magazines and newspapers; TV and radio programs, stations, and networks; film and video producers; web-based projects; and groups involved in organizing, advocacy, and the delivery of related services. Each listing will be cross referenced. The current plan is to release the resulting directory, which will also include relevant articles, both in print and online within the next year. The basic listings are free, but outlets will also be able to purchase additional display space in the print edition.
