WIld Oats fires union organizer over bag of bruised fruit!!
Â
Fellow Supporters,
Â
           It was 6 months
If Wild Oats can be pressured to change a policy about what type of traps they use for rodent problems by animal rights groups surely they can change a policy on how they treat workers who wish to be represented by a union.
If it were not for mine and about a dozen others open and public display of union activity I would not have been fired for following managements own policy of discounting spoiled produce at $.10 per pound.Â
The fact is, management has a set of policies in place that they can abuse at the crack of a whim. One, like a discount of bad produce, was a common practice amongst produce workers and management. It is then selectively used to get rid of a “troublemaker,†which is what I find out certain people in management have called me and several others. Wild Oats workers deserve protection from these selective and elitist policies.
Wild Oats management has engaged over the past year like a well polished union busting machine. They have used every trick in the book to rid it self of its union problem and it has not been above them to break the law in order to do it. After all, they have done it twice before, at least on paper. .
If you believe in workers sticking behind each other and building unions to better working conditions and unfair treatment than please help in our effort to change how Wild Oats deals with union organizing. Â
The problem is that Wild Oats just won’t give into the workers demands.

The solution is to sign on and help become part of the campaign.
