Where is the proof for calling Ronnie Davis a " Reported " racist? Can we not assume for a minute, that standing up to someone who is in the wrong, if that individual is a minority, is not racist?
Interestingly enough, I am no fan of Ronnie Davis. I have kept tabs on his business doings for years, and I still can't decide if he is a shady individual, or a savvy entrepeneur. Having talked to several close friends who were there that night, they all seem to agree on a few things. Councilman MCFadden was in the wrong, whatever else was said. He did threaten Mr Davis, while his friends stood behind him and called Ronnie " white boy ". A groundswell of popularity should not ever exhonerate someone for doing wrong.

Councilman McFadden has stated several times that he has videotaped proof of an "open air " drug market in the Alexander/ Monroe area. Let's see it. I believe that such a market does exist there, as it exists around nearly every bar in the city. But let's see the tape. Having worked at High Falls I can honestly say that bar owners look the other way when patrons wish to step outside to get high in the smoking area. No more meaningless posturing for the sake of publicity, this city needs leaders with substance.

Having been a patron in all of Ronnie's establishments, and knowing the staff at a few, I don't understand how he could be a racist. Marketing a product that is preferred by lower- middle class white kids does not make you a racist. Besides, he does not in any way discourage minorities from patronizing his establishments, but, I could be missing something. Ronnie is all about money, and being racist doesn't make any financial sense.

The bottom line seems to be this, you cannot have unity in our city, if people of different race cannot disagree, without the charge of racism being thrown in. Wrong is wrong. As for Mr. Mcfadden's friend throwing out the "white boy" comment, that is racist in of itself. I'm white, I don't consider my self a racist, I like to take people one at a time and judge each in turn. So, don't address me by my color, and I won't think that your a bigot, and we can all live happily together, as I believe we are intended.
