PFABBS’ Response for the Closing of the Public Input Window
On April 29, Maggie Brooks indicated on WXXI radio on the morning news that the window of opportunity for public input had passed.
As citizens interested in the welfare of this community, People for a Better Bus System will hold our officials accountable for fiscal responsibility if they proceed with the current design for this project. If the public cannot have a say in a comparison and examination of alternative plans that are more environmentally and fiscally responsible to this community, then we are asking Ms Brooks what the truth is in the continual statements made with reference to public input in this process. A lack of respect for the views held by an overwhelming majority of area residents constitutes an attempt to shut out perhaps the most important stakeholders in this process. There have been many alternative location choices that have been identified that could actually improve transit function instead of slowing it down as the current plan will.
The RGRTA has ignored the little public input it has allowed to date. How can you close a window that was never opened?
