Before I could even stand on my own two, [Monroe County Jail deputy VanDeMar] started macing me. As soon as she started macing me, the other officers came in, grabbed me up–of course I'm maced, I can't see where-the-hell what-the-hell, none of that–so I just spit because the shit got in my mouth. My eyes was closed, burning of course, and I spit. I don't know where the fuck it went. My eyes was closed. After that all I know is that they slammed me to the fucking ground–I don't remember, I just know it was like three or four male officers, VanDeMar–they put my arms around my back, cuffed me, next thing you know, all I felt was foot, feet, hands, punches, everything. They kicked–"Oh, bitch, that's why you going to prison!"–kicking me in the face like, it was serious. Like, when I say serious, I mean like I never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever in my life been through anything like this in my life. Ever. Ever. When I say like kicking, they got steel-toed boots. They was kicking me in the face. I was down cuffed. I couldn't move. They kept saying, "Oh stop moving bitch!" I couldn't–they kicking me in the ribs–like really like stomping me out. Like I was a piece of nothing. And before they wanted to put me in the little stupid chair, they put the little stupid bag over my face; I don't know what they hell they called it, the white bag, some white shit... and took me to the little room [solitary confinement].
She was released on November 20, 2017. Ms. Adams pleaded to a conditional discharge. Since then, she has been harassed by the Rochester Police Department and is asking for support on Apri 23, 1:30 PM in Judge Miller's courtroom at the Hall of Justice (99 Exchange Blvd.).
