Brian Wolcott will describe the November 11 to 18 Olympia Stand encampment blockade of a train transporting fracking proppants from the Port of Olympia to the Bakken shale oil and gas fields in North Dakota, the source of Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) oil and explosive Northwest oil trains. Before riot police injured, arrested, and dispersed blockaders in downtown Olympia, protesters expressed solidarity with Native-led DAPL resistance and local indigenous sovereignty movements.
