Stanley Aronowitz for Governor - background:
in his own words:
<<I am no friend of labor-I am labor, and have been labor for over 50 years.
I began as a steelworker and became an organizer for the Amalgamated
Clothing Workers, now merged into UNITE, and the Oil Chemical and Atomic
Workers. Now, as a professor at the City University of New York Graduate
Center, I remain a union activist. I am an elected member of the executive
council of the Professional Staff Congress (AFT) at CUNY, and I sit on the
Bargaining Committee that just won the first significant increases our
people have seen in nearly a decade. I have also written four books about
the problems and prospects of American labor, an additional twelve on
various sociological topics including several on education, plus a
half-dozen volumes that I edited>>
