Maggie Brooks, corporate puppet? takes office today

Who does she work for? She needs to work for those living in her county. <!--break--> Brooks ran in the most expensive race between two ruling class interests in the county&#8217;s history. It was a black cat running against a white cat in a land of mice. The cats still have all the cheese. The real power is on her Economic Development Team. Those living in the county, who are directly effected by her policy, should be on this team, not the heads of corporate Rochester. (RUMP group/RBA/GRE). Brooks is arguing &#8220;cooperation&#8221; between city/county. Partially because of the 5 million dollar partisan budget cut which threatens to place city school nurses, mental health workers and police officers into poverty. But the cooperation is easy for her to have with others of the same interests. Also corporate agenda is to roll back social services by consolidating, privatizing, and slashing. The Health Safety team is a rubber stamp group that only can put a person in a director's job of DHHS. The director is PR position. The director can&#8217;t change welfare reform, which has been increasing sanctions nation wide. Brooks is naming the search now to distance herself from the legacy of Doyle (who consolidated then slashed social services) but thats exactly the positition she may be put in again. She&#8217;s put between the same interests that Doyle was. Corporate profit, and human need. ] Her resolution this new year needs to be to work to end the human suffering in her county.
