A growing multi-racial coalition of labor activists, students, social workers, homeless as well as religious leaders met at UR over the weekend. Those of conscience were saddened by the links beginning to emerge between the effects of lead, hypothermia and the security of their homes. <!--break--> Fred Hampton a recent UR graduate said quietly “We’re beginning to look backwards at the history of all of the victims of lead poisoning as well as any other biological or physical effect that could be isolated. We understand it’s dangerous when lead can be isolated for having an effect on the body. I'd like to thank everyone thats loosing sleep over this issue.” Several realtors joined the growing chorus of consent. HUD real estate agent James Realtor of the area Jay Orchard Street region was among them. Others concerned with the strong link such as Thomas Dean, a self professed “hillbilly” could not attend Sunday‘s meeting.
