The Lake Ontario Ordnance Works' Restoration Advisory Board, which is sponsored by the federal government, has a habit of holding untranscribed semi-open meetings (see Ricciuti letter). Dual memberships in Residents for Responsible Government and RAB and the surrounding secrecy of both groups suggest profound conflicts of interest on the parts of these folks. RRG promotes itself as a group of concerned citizens and parents interested in monitoring Chemical Waste Management and contamination at Lewiston-Porter Central Schools (NY), but it may actually be a front group for the worst polluters in human history.
YOUNGSTOWN – Residents for Responsible Government, a self-proclaimed environmental group working on pollution issues at Chemical Waste Management and the Lake Ontario Ordnance Works, doesn’t seem to be very effective.
My colleague, Pat Lowther and me, went to RRG’s monthly meeting in the village hall Wednesday night to check out serious concerns about the group’s authenticity – Re: their self-description as an environmental group, which were published Tuesday. Our partner in crime, Lou Ricciuti, has much to say on the issues the group embraces, so I’ll let him tell you about that stuff.
What I’m going to tell you about is the experience of attending the meeting, looking the folks I’ve criticized in the eye on their turf, fully understanding the deadly serious nature of the subject matter. I’m also going to tell you a bit about some of the backgrounds of the group’s members. I warn you, there are some suspicious facts there.
