You may be interested to know that a group is forming whose sole mission is to insist on meaningful and sustained public input in the process of selecting and designing Rochester’s downtown transit center.
Current plans made available to the public just in the last month are to put the transit center at Main and Clinton. “*People for a Better Bus Station*” is not supportive of these plans.
If you were at the only public meeting scheduled for this $58 million dollar plan, you would have seen an outpouring of concern from all directions in the community. Clearly the time for public input must extend past the Dec. 15th deadline for written comment. The group’s first function is to create a bound collection of the letters sent to RGRTA expressing concerns. If you would like to include your correspondence to RGRTA in this collection, which will be delivered to the media as well as to relevant politicians, please forward a copy of your letter to:

Public comment period scheduled to end on December 15, 2003.
Some people say it’s too late. The truth is, planned details have been available to the public for just a few weeks. It’s actually a good time to get started.
