CFL ALERT: SPEAK OUT AGAINST AMERICAN COMPANIES AIDING ISRAELI GENOCIDE OF THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE.

Lockheed Martin has just announced the completion of its F-16Is, which will soon be sent to Israel. These weapons will be used, in violation of the Arms Export Control Act, in Palestinian towns to massacre an untold number of civilians. Let this administration know you are opposed to the sale of weapons to the Israeli government because of its consistent disregard for the AECA in using them in civilian areas against innocent civilians.

TALKING POINTS

*Three weeks ago, over 135 innocent Palestinian civilians were injured, and dozens more killed, when the Israeli Occupation Forces attacked downtown Gaza in mid-day. Today dozens of Palestinians, most of whom are children, are lying in hospital beds dying or paralyzed by the Israeli attack. Lockheed Martin should not arm any country that shows such a cruel disregard for innocent civilians. Contact Congress and demand a halt to Lockheed Martin’s sales to Israel.

*Israel is using American weapons in violation of AECA agreements between both countries. The AECA agreements stipulate that Israel not use such weapons in civilian territories, yet Israel consistently uses these weapons in densely populated areas. Demand that the United States hold Lockheed Martin accountable for arming Israel while that nation continues to violate international law, U.N. Security Council resolutions, the Geneva Conventions and binding agreements with this country.

*Eli Shkedy, chief of staff of the Israeli Air Force, stated that the F-16Is are good for Israel because the jets can reach any place in the Middle East and allow Israelis to “do almost anything." Tell your representatives that in the wake of 9/11 it is outrageous and irresponsible for American companies to aid Israeli crimes, especially when those crimes can be directly linked to Americans. Instead of giving Israel the tools it needs to wreak more havoc in the Middle East, we should be distancing ourselves from the transgressions of that country. Tell your representatives that you will view their silence on this issue as unmistakable approval of Israeli crimes.
