As part of Bicycle Awareness Month and Bike Week in Rochester, Rochester Community Bikes unveiled its new mural with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday May 14. The event also included the installation of a Little Free Library, several of which exist in other locations. It was co-sponsored by and featured speakers from Bridges To Wellness and the Jordan Health Center. A four mile bike ride was planned after the event to visit a community garden and see some other art work. But heavy rain broke out just as the riders were lining up to leave. A few people put on raincoats and went on a short ride, but most stayed around for a tour of Rochester Community Bikes. Rochester Community Bikes recycles bikes to give away to children in the community and sells refurbished bikes to finance its building and operations. It is run by volunteers.
