Economic Fascism and The United States

If I do not believe in, trust, or support the US Federal Government, my home should not be in jeopardy. The Federal Government, whenever they choose, through the IRS, will take your home if you do not support them. This confiscation of property by the Federal Government is absolutely and unequivocally wrong, and it is illegal.

For the Federal Government to threaten me with stealing my home because I want them to fail, is economic FASCISM.

A Reminiscence

When I attended the showing of local activists' video coverage of the DNC and RNC, a week ago, where they also talked about their experiences on the streets in Denver and St. Paul/Minneapolis, it took me back to the demonstrations I attended in the late 60s.

Steve Kurtz , member of the Critical Art Ensemble and SUNY at Buffalo Visual Arts professor, joins us this week as we discuss the surreal events of these past four years of his life. On May 11, 2004, Steve Kurtz called 911 from his Buffalo, NY home when he found that his wife had died in her sleep. While attending to the call the police became suspicious and called the FBI after they saw parts of Steve's art project that included standard laboratory equipment. The case exemplifies both the bizarre and dangerous effects of the Bush War on Terrorism, and how the FBI and new laws such as the Patriot Act have been used to target academic and artistic work that is critical of the corporate state.

Now that a judge has dismissed all the government charges against Kurtz, he is free to discuss the details of the case.
