<p>Thursday, October 20 5:00pm City Hall, 30 Church St. Protest the Rochester Police killing Hayden Blackman. The protest will be right before the Police Reform Commission Meeting which starts at 5:30pm at City Hall. <!--break--> After another police murder, the Police Chief justified the murder before the internal and criminal investigation even began. We need an Independent Civilian Review Board with Power and the Department of Justice to investigate the pattern and practice of civil rights abuses. We need serious change in the RPD, and this commission isn't going to make it happen. It includes police officers with histories of serious civil rights violations and is dominated by government personnel. We urgently need a real accountability process to end the era of rampant--and deadly--police abuse. Come out to stand in solidarity with victims while the police reform commission convenes for the 2nd--and hopefully last--time. We need a safe community, not shallow reform of a department that disregards human life.
