The subpoenas are likely to be re-activated soon. <!--break--> By Committee to Stop FBI Repression (CSFR) Re-Activation of Subpoenas - Emergency Action Plan Day: to be announced - we expect it may be soon Where: Your local Federal Building or government office The Committee to Stop FBI Repression urges everyone who is working for peace and justice to organize protests the workday after anti-war activists get the word to appear in front of the Grand Jury. The subpoenas are likely to be re-activated soon. Activists are already holding organizing meetings this week--gathering to make signs, line up speakers, contact the press, and prepare to mobilize for the day after anti-war and international solidarity activists are called to appear in front of a Chicago-based Grand Jury. If the news of the call to appear is received on Friday, the protests will take place on Monday at Federal Buildings or government offices. On Sept. 24 the FBI raided the homes and an office of anti-war and international solidarity activists in Minneapolis and Chicago. Activists in Michigan, Minnesota and Illinois received subpoenas to appear in front of the grand jury. All of them submitted legal documents invoking their Fifth Amendment rights and did not appear before the Grand Jury. Reports indicate the subpoenas for three Twin Cites activists will be reactivated. Thanks for your solidarity, Tom Burke, for the CSFR November 10, 2010 _______________________________________________ StopFBI mailing list StopFBI@organizerweb.com http://www.organizerweb.com/mailman/listinfo/stopfbi

Account Creation Policy Change

Rochester Indymedia is now requiring editor approval for account creation.

We came to this decision after we had repeated spam posted to our website that caused difficulty with the website's functioning.  We will still have open publishing and keep our site as nonrestrictive and accessible as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.  As before, we will continue to be Rochester's grassroots news and education site.  Thank you for your continued support and remember, "Don't hate the media, be the media!"

Editorial Meeting Times / Locations

The Rochester Independent Media Center (R-IMC) is no longer meeting regularly.
We will set up meetings by necessity and appointment. Please contact us at rochesterindymedia@rocus.org.
Our home is still the Flying Squirrel Community Space at 285 Clarissa St. Occasionally, we hold meetings at RCTV located at 21 Gorham Street.
