Oct. 13
6:45p-8p
Third Floor of City Hall
30 Church St.
Rochester, NY

CALL TO ACTION: We must pull together as a community and respond to the violent police repression which came to the SDS's Oct. 7 peace march protesting the war on Afghanistan. City council has heard from the police--that is, the perpetrators of violence. On Tuesday they will hear from the victims. Even if you don't want to speak, please come and show your support!

DETAILS OF THE MEETING: City Council is holding a "Speak to Council" session before this Tuesday's council meeting at 7:00pm. If possible, get there a little early because it will start promptly. Speakers are requested to limit their remarks to 2-3 minutes depending on the number of speakers. If anyone does want to speak to Council, they must call beforehand to get on the speaker's list. Anyone who wants to speak to council must call in by 6pm the day of the council meeting. The phone number is: 428-7421. The speakers will be called beginning promptly at 7 PM so speakers should be in Council Chambers by that time.

State violence at home and abroad only continues if we let it. Our power is the people.

Account Creation Policy Change

Rochester Indymedia is now requiring editor approval for account creation.

We came to this decision after we had repeated spam posted to our website that caused difficulty with the website's functioning.  We will still have open publishing and keep our site as nonrestrictive and accessible as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.  As before, we will continue to be Rochester's grassroots news and education site.  Thank you for your continued support and remember, "Don't hate the media, be the media!"

Editorial Meeting Times / Locations

The Rochester Independent Media Center (R-IMC) is no longer meeting regularly.
We will set up meetings by necessity and appointment. Please contact us at rochesterindymedia@rocus.org.
Our home is still the Flying Squirrel Community Space at 285 Clarissa St. Occasionally, we hold meetings at RCTV located at 21 Gorham Street.
