Memorized monologues are appreciated, but not required. The two shows that are upcoming soon are: MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE BASED ON THE WRITINGS OF RACHEL CORRIE, ADAPTED BY ALAN RICKMAN AND KATHERINE VINER In March of 2003, Rachel Corrie was killed by an Israeli bulldozer in the Gaza Strip as she was trying to prevent the demolition of Palestinian homes. MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE is a play composed from Rachel's own journals, letters, and e-mails creating a portrait of a skinny, articulate, Salvador Dali-loving chain-smoker, who left home and school in Olympia, Washington, in support of non-voilent protest. "A powerful, thought-provoking and deeply moving piece of theatre." -- Daily Telegraph THE DESIGNATED MOURNER BY WALLACE SHAWN Woven out of three monologues in what one reviewer called "a triple sonata of oppresion and incomprehension", this play is a masterful drama about the self, politics, and the pursuit of aesthetic subtleties in brutal times.
