Here is a call to action from a group in DC area

Rowdy, noisy march to IMF/WB delegates' hotels at 1:00 am the night of Saturday, October 11th into Sunday, October 12th.
CALL TO ACTION:
MARCH ON THE IMF/WORLD BANK DELEGATES ON OCTOBER 11TH IN WASHINGTON, DC

The IMF and World Bank are responsible for driving millions across the globe into poverty and misery. Through predatory lending to impoverished nations, these international loansharks impose the privatization of resources, the erosion of labor and environmental protections, and severe slashes to social services. However, poor and oppressed peoples facing assaults on their standards of living are not taking it lying down. Resistance is spreading all over the world, from rebellions against water privatization in Bolivia and South Africa to general strikes against "free trade" agreements in South Korea. Now the IMF and World Bank are coming to DC, and it's time to bring the resistance home.

Join us at Dupont Circle at 1:00 am on the night of Saturday, Oct. 11th into the morning of Sunday, Oct. 12th for a rowdy, noisy march to the hotels where delegates are staying. Bring noisemakers to wake up the caretakers of global capitalism and tell them they're not welcome in DC!

NO PEACE FOR THE BANK!
NO SLEEP FOR THE ELITE!

Endorsed by Baltimore Resistance to the Electoral Conventions and the Frederick Progressive Action Coalition

See you in the streets.

Account Creation Policy Change

Rochester Indymedia is now requiring editor approval for account creation.

We came to this decision after we had repeated spam posted to our website that caused difficulty with the website's functioning.  We will still have open publishing and keep our site as nonrestrictive and accessible as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.  As before, we will continue to be Rochester's grassroots news and education site.  Thank you for your continued support and remember, "Don't hate the media, be the media!"

Editorial Meeting Times / Locations

The Rochester Independent Media Center (R-IMC) is no longer meeting regularly.
We will set up meetings by necessity and appointment. Please contact us at rochesterindymedia@rocus.org.
Our home is still the Flying Squirrel Community Space at 285 Clarissa St. Occasionally, we hold meetings at RCTV located at 21 Gorham Street.
