Greens Annual Meeting to Elect Party Officers and More

The Annual Meeting of the Green Party of Monroe County will be held this Monday, January 9th at 7pm to elect Party Officers for 2006 and to discuss upcoming voting reforms.
The Green Party of Monroe County will hold it's Annual Meeting this Monday, January 9th at 7pm at 179 Atlantic Avenue. Included in this meeting will be elections for Green Party Officers. Positions to be elected are Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. Nominations for currently registered Greens will be taken from the floor.
The Greens use Instant Runoff Voting to determine its officers. For more information on this, visit http://www.instantrunoff.com.
Also included in the Annual Meeting will be a facitlitated discussion on upcoming changes in voting and elections in general. The discussion will be led by Chris Hilderbrant and Jason Nabewaniec, two greens who have been active in the County's process to choose new voting booths.Â
The Green Party's steering committee has recently decided to focus it's non-electoral activism in 2006 on two issues, electoral reform and women's issues. Discussion will also take place on exactly how this will done as well as how to combine this with our electoral work.
All are invited to attend as the meeting is free & open to the public. Only registered Greens are allowed to run for Party Officers or vote in this election.
