BUSES TO BE PROVIDED TO MASSIVE RALLY AND MARCH IN WASHINGTON, DC, ON SEPT. 24
Rochester, NY. Rochester-area residents who wish to join the growing numbers of concerned citizens opposed to the continuing war in Iraq can book round-trip reservations on buses chartered by Peace Action & Education (PA&E) to Washington, DC, for the National Anti-War Mobilization to be held Saturday, Sept. 24. The bus will depart late Friday night, Sept. 23, and will return by 2 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25. Round-trip fare is $70; scholarship assistance is available for those in need.
According to PA&E spokesperson Douglas Noble, the three buses will be filled in the order that paid reservations are received. Checks payable to "PA&E" can be mailed to "Metro Justice - Bus" at 167 Flanders Street, Rochester, NY 14619. Each passenger's full name, telephone number, and e-mail address must accompany each check.
"The Sept. 24 mobilization", said Noble, "is being co-sponsored by hundreds of grassroots organizations like ours to demonstrate to the Bush administration, and to the world, the depth and breadth of our opposition to the Bush military agenda. While our president seeks to marginalize his critics, we will demonstrate that a vast majority of Americans are no longer fooled by the lies and distortions that have led us into this deadly quagmire. We believe it is our patriotic duty to help move our country in a more peaceful direction, and to do everything within our power to stop the senseless slaughter in Iraq."
PA&E is a task force of Metro Justice, an independent grassroots organization working for human rights, equality, and economic and environmental justice. For more information, or to donate to the bus scholarship fund, call Metro Justice at (585) 325-2560.
