• ...As I was listening to him go on and on about what a huge and growing influence of "liberalism", I thought to myself, what f*ing planet is this jerk living on?
PHXNews, April 30, 2004 I was listening to the Mike Savage show yesterday and caught his rather long-winded, emotional tirade about liberalism spreading "like a stain" across this country. He blamed liberal thought for putting us in a position where we can't even win a war anymore. Instead, we're fighting "politically correct" wars, blah, blah, blah. As I was listening to him go on and on about what a huge and growing influence of "liberalism", I thought to myself, what f*ing planet is this jerk living on? Who controls the house in congress? Republicans. Who controls the senate? Republicans. And who is in the White House? Republicans. It is literally impossible for one party to have any more power or influence than the Republicans currently have. Liberals aren't controlling anything. Not even the media. They have a few safe havens like the New York Times, but Fox News is taking over. And Newsmax is taking over. And every AM radio host on every tick of the dial is a Rush Limbaugh clone or some other closely related version of a liberal hater. Savage needs to stop whining and realize these are the golden years of conservatism. And conservatives need to quit playing the liberal game of looking for someone else to blame and demand that their party do the job they want them to do. Ben

Account Creation Policy Change

Rochester Indymedia is now requiring editor approval for account creation.

We came to this decision after we had repeated spam posted to our website that caused difficulty with the website's functioning. We will still have open publishing and keep our site as nonrestrictive and accessible as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. As before, we will continue to be Rochester's grassroots news and education site. Thank you for your continued support and remember, "Don't hate the media, be the media!"

Editorial Meeting Times / Locations

The Rochester Independent Media Center (R-IMC) is no longer meeting regularly.
We will set up meetings by necessity and appointment. Please contact us at rochesterindymedia@rocus.org.
Our home is still the Flying Squirrel Community Space at 285 Clarissa St. Occasionally, we hold meetings at RCTV located at 21 Gorham Street.
