Mention alternative rock to a group of music listeners and it either perks their interest or you get a hard eye roll from people who immediately thing of Matchbox 20 or Radiohead. Mostly Fiction is a breath of fresh air to a genre that has been shit on by Pitchfork for the last five years. Its feel good music with sad lyrics, an instantly memorable sound that will fling you back into your high school days. Power pop, straight laced irony, and bi polar guitar lics filled with strange audio feed ins that fit in in the strangest way. Even our ‘song to listen to’ ‘Eskimos’ has a heavy dose of Ska to make you feel reminiscent of a better time. These guys are definitely worth the play through.
