She is director of Legal Studies and pre-law advisor. Her research interests include American government and politics, constitutional history, and comparative health care policy. A native of Ukraine, with family there, she has been a close observer of these last months' unfolding events in Ukraine.</p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><b>Matthew E Lenoe</b> is Associate Professor of History and department chair at the University of Rochester. His field is European history with specialties in Russian and Soviet history. His first book, <i>Closer to the Masses: Stalinist Culture, Social Revolution and Soviet Newspapers</i><span style="font-variant: normal"> </span><span style="font-variant: normal"><span style="font-style: normal">(2004), examined the origins of high Stalinist culture. He is also engaged in research on the experiences of Soviet infantrymen during the early Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union and the history of propaganda and surveillance worldwide.</span></span></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in">&nbsp;</p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><span style="font-variant: normal"><span style="font-style: normal"><b>Joe Crescente</b></span></span><span style="font-variant: normal"> </span><span style="font-variant: normal"><span style="font-style: normal">holds graduate degrees from Indiana University in Russian and Ukrainian studies and Anthropology from New York University. Recently he returned from two years working for a State Department-financed non-profit organization in Moscow. Rochester Indymedia is now requiring editor approval for account creation.

We came to this decision after we had repeated spam posted to our website that caused difficulty with the website's functioning.  We will still have open publishing and keep our site as nonrestrictive and accessible as possible.

Editorial Meeting Times / Locations

The Rochester Independent Media Center (R-IMC) is no longer meeting regularly.
We will set up meetings by necessity and appointment. Please contact us at rochesterindymedia@rocus.org.
Our home is still the Flying Squirrel Community Space at 285 Clarissa St. Occasionally, we hold meetings at RCTV located at 21 Gorham Street.
