Call to Support RNC Arrestees
Primary tabs
Call Ramsey County officials to demand justice for people being brutalized in jail
One of the most pressing needs here in St Paul is for folks to support the prisoners of this police state. Many people are still in jail, and they are being treated badly. There are minors locked up with adults, there are transfolks locked in cells where they feel unsafe, and there are reports of brutal beatings inside the jail. I heard one legally confirmed story of a 19-year-old who would not be quiet in his cell. Several police officers wearing rubber gloves entered his cell, and he was heard screaming for five minutes, then carried away. He has not been heard from. Lawyers and nurses are being lied to and told that people are receiving medical treatment when they are NOT. There are two cell blocks on hunger strike.
PLEASE CALL the following people and demand:
-immediate medical attention for those who need it
-that arrestees be allowed to meet in groups with lawyers
-the release of minors
-that trans people be allowed access to phones, lawyers, and moved to the
cell blocks of their choice
-and finally, the dismissal of all charges
