Anti Israeli Occupation Conference Starts July 25th

The US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation will hold its 7th Annual National Organizers' Conference, Grassroots Training Institute, & Lobbying Day at American Universities Main campus July 25-28 in Washington, DC. There are many different groups from all different faiths and backgrounds that support this campaign and are sending delegates to this conference. These groups include Catholic Peace Fellowship, Interfaith Peace -Builders, Global Exchange, Jewish Voice for Peace, and Olympia friends Meeting which is a quaker organization

At this conference the priorities will be set for the coalition and a steering committee will be elected to guide the campaign.

On the first day of the conference from 7-9 PM there will be a discussion featuring Norman Finkelstein. He has written several books on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. On Sunday a skills training will be held to help activist become better advocates in their community on this issue. Examples of the skills building workshops are Interfaith Divestment Strategies, Coalition Building within Diverse Communities and media 101. Other activities and decision making meetings will happen throughout the conference to give people a chance to meet and network.
