America Needs Greater Public Information About Domestic Extremist Groups
"I applaud Rep. Jane Harmen (D-CA) for introducing S. 1959: Violent Radicalisation and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act, a bill that would secure funding for a public interest research center to track and make public information about violent, dogmatic organizations that originated in the United States. After the bill passed the House of Representatives with an overwhelming vote of support (405-6) the needs to pass the Senate and have President Bush sign the bill into law."
"Had more information about extremist organizations like the Nation of Yahweh been available to the public, Rochester Friends Helping Friends’ services to the community would not have been disrupted and damaged."
This is sick. Your poor judgment was the problem, not the lack of a bill that criminalizes dissenting opinion.
You know, I felt that the bill would have helped a lot. The Nation of Yahweh members were brought up on racketeering/murder charges shortly after the Mayor of Miami announced a Yahweh ben Yahweh day.
We had a long ongoing debate as to whether or not we should work with Bahti' Yah, since I had not heard of the Nation of Yahweh prior to meeting this lady, I chose to work with her for her strong work ethic.
There are real domestic terrorist organizations that should be exposed, accurate and objective research would prevent harassment of non-violent activists while preventing problems with the violent one.
Blame the victim, especially when you really don't even know the situation.
The bill does not criminalize a dissenting opinion. Read the bill and tell me where the bill criminalizes dissenting opinion... try thinking for yourself instead regurgitating overheard commentary.
