Re: DEC Bungles Bear Episode

I think your barking up the wrong tree -- pun intended -- in all the interviews I saw, and video footage, the bear was alive when it was placed in the trap for transport not only that but they are doing an autopsy on the bear to find out the exact cause of death. Often times animals that purposely enter heavily populated areas are sick or have something wrong with them that may cause them to die when people try to capture them. Their weak bodies cannot handle the stress of it.

The DEC could have shot that bear dead on first site, but they attempted to save its life. What they (and we) learn from the autopsy will provide them with more information to save more bears in the future.
