Re: Syracuse: Help Take Foie Gras Cruelty Off the Menu

Made reservations at La'dour, only to find concerned individuals exposing the facts relating to foi' grois in front of the restaurant. Although I once enjoyed foi grois, my wife and I vconsidered the motive of the individuals enlightening the consumer and moved on based on a value of (at a minimum) treating the animals that sustain us with some respect. We went to Pascal's in Syracuse and explained our experience at La' Dour only to find the maitre' de or manager unconcerned stating that they too had foi gras, considering our attitude simply some sort of joke. Upon sitting down we opened the menu to find..."foi' grois ravioli". After careful consideration...we left. Went to BCs across the street and found a pretty damn good dinner with a grilled tofu. The dinner was excellent, flavorful. Although I enjoy meat and foi' grois, there's a bigger picture that we should consider...some sort of humane treatment of animals in consideration of our own humanity. Eat meat, but for cryin' out loud...they're god's creatures.
