Rochester Police Arrest Citizen for Taping Traffic Stop

On May 12th, Rochesterian Emily Good was arrested for taping a traffic stop in front of her 19th Ward home. She, with a friend, was standing in front of her house with a hand held recording device when the arrest happened. The video shows what happened.

Officer Mario Masic was the arresting officer. Mario is a breeder of Alaskan sled dogs and runs a business called Harvest Moon Malamutes. Good was charged with obstructing government administration and was bailed out on the night of the arrest. Currently, her case is moving through the legal system.

Rochester Indymedia would like to remind our readers that you have a protected right to video tape police in public settings. However, should you be arrested, the only information you are required to tell police is your legal name and address. Other than that, remember the magic words: "I'm going to remain silent; I'd like to speak to a lawyer."
